Opportunities and drivers
The divergence between recovery and ELT arising is due to the time lag in collection. Collected tons are lower than applied tons because of existing which was delivered almost completely at the Q2/2024. In 2020 Finland piled more, there were already existing
ELT treatment
- The recovery rate is high when compared to the total amount of ELT arising.
- Despite the aggregation in the visualization, by far the highest percentage of ELT is used for civil engineering and backfilling because it is perceived as practical and economical, given the country’s large area and small population. This approach reduces logistic costs and saves significant amounts of virgin materials. Tires are ideal for infrastructure foundations in wet areas due to their water conductivity and resistance to freezing effects.
- Data provider indicated a slight reduction in material recovery over the years. Cheaper imported mats dominated the market, but recovery is improving. By 2023, rubber products like granules and powder have been added as new plant investments.
