TIP, in partnership with UL Environment, publishes Product Category Rules (PCR) for tires, an industry guideline for tire manufacturers to conduct lifecycle assessments (LCAs) and produce Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs).
Developed through a collaborative effort of major tire manufacturers, the PCR has a global scope and provides a common, standardized methodology for assessing the environmental performance of tires. The latest version of the PCR, published in early 2026, reflects advances in scientific knowledge and evolving manufacturing and vehicle-use conditions. By improving the framework for measuring environmental performance, it enables more accurate and credible reporting. This supports better decision-making and positive environmental action across the tire value chain.
