Richard Baldauf

Dr. Richard Baldauf is an environmental engineer specializing in environmental management research and policy, with 25 years of experience at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (U.S. EPA) and currently with the Eastern Research Group (ERG). His work has focused on understanding emissions, exposures, and adverse health effects from transportation sources, including non-exhaust tire and brake wear. He has led key U.S. EPA research efforts on emissions characterization, green infrastructure mitigation, and strategies to reduce community exposure to traffic-related air pollution. At ERG, he continues to support research, policy development, and technical guidance to address the growing importance of non-exhaust emissions in air quality management.  Dr. Baldauf has over 100 peer-reviewed articles, book chapters, and reports on the characterization and mitigation of environmental impacts from transportation sources.
