Dr. Frejafon works at Bureau de Recherches Géologique et Minières (BRGM), France to scale up industry innovation, besides being the Mission Manager of natural risks and geological resources management at the French Ministry of Research and Higher Education. He is also the Chairman of the European Committee for Standardization on Nanotechnologies, France. Dr. Frejafon specializes in nanotechnologies, industrial & environmental risk assessment, long range remote sensing and optical spectroscopy. He has won multiple awards for metrology and is the owner/co-owner of several world patents. He has previously worked at INERIS, the French National Institute for Industrial Environment and Risks for 20 years. He holds a Ph.D. and an Accreditation to supervise research in Physics from Université Claude-Bernard, France and a Master’s degree in Physics & Chemistry from ENS, France.

Dr. How Yong Ng is an Adjunct Professor at the National University of Singapore and a Changjiang Scholar Professor at Beijing Normal University, China. His research focuses on sustainable water management and the removal of emerging pollutants. He has published over 500 papers and invented the I2BioS, a real-time water toxicity and quality monitoring system. Dr. Ng is a Fellow of the Academy of Engineering Singapore and the International Water Association (IWA). He also serves as an editor for leading journals, including Water Research. A recipient of numerous awards, he was honored with the 2014 IWA Pacific Project Innovation Award and the 2020 Institute of Engineering Singapore Prestigious Engineering Achievement Award. He holds a Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering from UC Berkeley, US.

Dr. Lynch is currently a Chair Professor of Environmental Nanosciences at the School of Geography, Earth and Environmental Sciences, University of Birmingham in the UK. She is also the Chair of the Hazardous Substances Advisory Committee, which provides independent advice on all aspects of chemicals in the environment to Defra, the UK’s Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs. She has been awarded the Royal Society of Chemistry’s John Jeyes award for Environmental Science. Dr. Lynch is a leading expert in the field of nanotechnology and its environmental impact. Her research focuses on the safety of nanoscale materials and their interactions with biological systems. She obtained her Ph.D. from the School of Chemistry at University College Dublin in Ireland; and completed postdoctoral research at Lund University in Sweden.

An internationally known toxicologist, Dr. Bucher is a former Associate Director, National Toxicology Program (NTP) and Scientific Director at the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences, US. He has studied the health effects of chemicals (including those used in tire manufacture) for over 40 years. He was an originator of in vitro high throughput robotic screening for molecular toxicity targets termed “Toxicology in the 21st Century”. Amongst other roles, Dr. Bucher has served on the National Academy of Sciences, International Agency for Research on Cancer and World Health Organization committees. He holds a Ph.D. in Pharmacology from the University of Iowa, US and an M.S. in Biochemistry from the University of North Carolina, US. He was an NIH Postdoctoral Fellow in Biochemistry and Environmental Toxicology at Michigan State University, US.

Dr. John Spengler is a Professor of Environmental Health and Human Habitation at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, Boston, US, where he focuses on assessing the health benefits of heat adaptation strategies for US cities and the wellbeing benefits of exposure to nature. He has done pioneering work on the impact of environmental pollution on humans, serving as an advisor to the World Health Organization for air and indoor pollution. He has received multiple awards including the ASHRAE Environmental Health award, US EPA Region 1 Environmental Merit award for lifetime achievement, the ISIAQ Academy of Fellows Pettenkofer award for distinguished contributions in indoor air science, and the A&WMA Lyman Ripperton Environmental Educator Award. He received his Ph.D. in Atmospheric Sciences from the State University of New York Albany, US.

Dr. Masaharu Motoshita is a Research Group Leader at the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology, Japan. He is an expert in Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and its application to sustainability management across global supply chains. One of his key research areas is sustainable natural resource management, including water foot printing. Dr. Motoshita has played a pivotal role in the development of consensus-based methodologies for assessing the impacts of natural resource use in LCA as a task force leader under the UNEP Life Cycle Initiative. He has been recognized for his outstanding contributions to the development and dissemination of water foot printing methodologies by the Institute of Life Cycle Assessment, Japan. Dr. Motoshita holds a Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering from Hiroshima University, Japan.

Dr. Dada is presently a lead expert and advisor to the African Region Group on Chemicals and Waste Multilateral Environmental Agreements. He brings over three decades of diverse experiences in developing sustainable solutions to both regional and global environmental challenges, especially around pollution control. Dr. Dada has been involved in negotiations of multiple regional and international treaties on chemicals and waste, actively contributing to multiple Technical and Scientific Guideline documents for national governments and the United Nations Environmental Programme. Dr. Dada holds a Ph.D. in Microbiology from Ahmadu Bello University, Nigeria and a Master’s degree in Environmental Health from Montana State University, US.
